Definition of Wedding Video Terms
Guest interviews are an optional but popular segment for a wedding video. They're also known as "video messages" or "best wishes" and are typically recorded at the reception. During the guest interviews, guest (including bridal party, family, friends and other guest) share thoughts and best wishes. A few brides decline guest interviews while other brides may limit the number of interviews. Click Guest Interview "Video Messages" to view a sample.
A "Love Story Video" is recorded weeks or months before the ceremony. Love story videos are often recorded in a causal setting such as a park or in a home. During recording the couple shares their story. They may talk about how they meet, their initial impression of each other, how their relationship grew. They often share humorous stories about their life together along with their plans for the future. Video lights and professional microphones are used to produce professional results.
"Pre-Ceremony" is an optional but popular segment of a wedding video. "Pre-Ceremony" is taped at the ceremony's location before the ceremony. Pre-Ceremony videos often include the wedding party's final preparations, (dressing and grooming,) wedding decorations, flowers, final preparations, words from the bride & groom, and more. Background music is chosen by the bride or videographer. Click Pre-Ceremony Wedding Video Demo to view one.
"Pre-Reception" is an optional but popular segment of a wedding video. Pre-Reception is shot upon the camera operator's arrival at the reception after the ceremony. Pre-Reception features decorations, wedding cakes, flowers, food, guest, and final preparations before bride's and groom's arrival. Background music is chosen by the bride or videographer. A Video photo montage is another popular segment of a wedding video. It features a collection of photographs provide by the bride and groom. The photos are often of the bride and groom's childhood combined with photographs of the bride and groom together. The bride and groom determine the order in which the photos will be shown. The videographer adds transitions, motion to the photographs, and background music to enhance the viewing experience. If a photographer holds the copyright of a photograph, the customer will need to provide a written and sighed release before that photograph can be included in the montage.
