Top 5 Mistakes Brides Make

5.  Details, What Details?    Too often the bride does not have all the fine details of the ceremony worked out before the actual wedding rehearsal.  Several days before the wedding rehearsal the bride along with her wedding planner or trusted advisors should visit the ceremony site and walk through the entire wedding service.   Everything should be decided upon before you leave the site, do not wait until the actual wedding rehearsal.  Create a detailed, chronological list and use this as your script.  Do the same for the rehearsal dinner site and the reception site.

4. Who's In Charge?  A wedding rehearsal needs one and only one person in charge.  The person in charge of the wedding ceremony rehearsal should not be the Bride, Groom, Officiate, or any member of the Bridal party.  A professional wedding planner is always the best choice.  However, if you are unable to have a professional wedding planner, delegate this responsibility to a trusted family member or friend.  The person you chose will be responsible for taking control of the rehearsal and they should be able to give clear, precise and detailed directions.  Go through your expectations and all the fine details with your wedding planner.  Also, at the rehearsal, practice your ceremony as many times as needed in order for all members of the wedding party to feel confident of what is expected from them.  This will ensure no embarrassing mishaps during your actual wedding ceremony.

3.  The Song Is Too Long.  If you are having a favorite song being played during the ceremony at any time, be aware of that songs length.  Most segments of a wedding ceremony, an example being the lighting of a unity candle, last less than 1 minute, where most songs last an average of 3 minutes. Take that favorite song and condense it down or have the sound person at the ceremony fade the song out at a certain time you designate.

4.  Have An Announcer During Your Reception.  The announcer at your wedding reception can be your DJ, the Band Leader, or a friend or family member.  The person you designate this responsibility to should have a commanding voice and not be nervous in public speaking situations.  Give them a detailed list of what to announce and when to announce it.  Examples of this are:

o       The estimated time of the arrival of the Bride and Groom.   If the reception is at a different location than that of the ceremony, have a cell phone in the car with you and call when you are approximately 5 minutes away from the reception site.

o       The entrance of the Bridal Party, starting with the names of the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen, followed by the Maid / Matron of Honor and the Best Man.

o       The entrance of the Bride and Groom, being introduced as Mr. and Mrs..

o       The Bride and Grooms first dance.

o       The Father / Daughter Dance and the Mother / Groom dance.

o       Cutting of the Wedding Cake.

o       Tossing the Bouquet and Garter.

o       The last dance of the Bride and Groom.

o       The Bride and Groom's exit.

The #1 Mistake Brides Make ~ Not Hiring a Professional Wedding Videographer.

By not hiring a Professional Wedding Videographer, a Bride will miss many special moments of her wedding ceremony and her special day.  She will also miss the main attraction of the day, herself, the bride. So Reserve Your Special Day before another bride does.
